From the Baia dei Saraceni in Punta Murena, the coast is characterized by clear, crystal water and sand which change their tones and shades along the 1500 sqkm of coastline : slightly rose-coloured in Laigueglia, golden in Alassio and ivory -coloured in Varigotti.

The beautuful landscapes of the coast and the hinterland are enriched by the artistic and architectural features found in the churches, street decor and artisan workshops: history and prehistory are revealed in the archaeological sites and grottos which offer fascinating itineraries: just as the the artistic craftsmanship has its exellence in the workmanship of the glass of Altare or the pottery of Albissola, both of antique tradition.
