Chiusànico is a village of 603 inhabitants, The territory is situated along the left slope of the Impero stream valley.It is divided into three historic nuclei of Castello (the oldest hamlet and already the seat in the medieval Castellania di Monte Arosio), the central part called Villa and the nucleus of Gerini in the southern area of the village. The village territory is made up of the chief village and also the two districts of Gazzelli and Torria for a total of 13.51 sqkm.
Agriculture and woods create a unique blend: olive groves and vineyards dominate the countryside and its variety of multi-coloured flowers daubing the landscape and its many shades of green.
Turning round towards the mountains, we can savour the typical aromas and contemplate the large open fields, assigned for centuries to pasture and transhumance.
There is also a rich and diversified animal life which goes to show how the natural environment has remained flourishing over time creating a sanctuary for those who wish to abandon the smog and stress of city life.
The church of San Martino of Tours with the frescoes by Giovanni Borgna between 1889 and 1891 in the vault of the presbitery (La gloria di Maria Vergine Assunta in cielo),and in the apse basin (Adorazione del Santissimo Sacramento), in the central vault and in the corners (La gloria di San Martino and the four Evangelists) Above the main altar there is a crucifix of the XXVII century (sculptor unknown) while the large statue of San Martino on horseback in 1926 is conferred to Ferdinando Stuflesser.
